Wellness Wednesday: Give Thanks Year Round

Thanksgiving is approaching, which means we’ll all be asked the same question: what are you thankful for? Although it is important to find gratitude at any point in the year, we’d like to challenge you to practice gratitude all year. Doing so can help improve both your body and mind, which is something we can all benefit from. Below are a few ideas on how to practice gratitude on a regular basis – maybe they’ll inspire you!   Journal Journaling is one of the easiest and most popular ways to practice gratitude. This can be as simple as writing down one thing you are grateful for daily. I prefer to use a journal that includes prompts (specifically the The 5-Minute Journal!). Gratitude journaling causes your day to start and/or end on a positive note – who wouldn’t want that?   Perform Random Acts of Kindness Random acts of kindness ignite happiness and gratitude from both the giver and the receiver of the act! No act is too small – whether it’s sending a letter to a friend or giving someone a compliment, a little bit goes a long way. Check out some of our favorite random acts of kindness here!   Create a Gratitude Jar A gratitude jar is perfect for when you need a happiness boost! Write down things you are grateful for on slips of paper and put them in a jar. When you’re feeling low, pull one of the papers out and let the happiness fill you up. Continue to add more slips to the jar, too – there’s no limit to appreciation.   These are just three of many ideas on how to practice gratitude.
