These last few years have been full of uncertainty, which can make us feel helpless and sometimes even hopeless.

If you find yourself in a bit of a funk from time to time, you’re not alone. However, the team here at Infocore has found that performing random acts of kindness is a foolproof and easy way to instantly lift your spirits and brighten up your day.

According to Psychology Today, performing random acts of kindness releases feel-good neurochemicals like oxytocin that can not only improve your mood, but can also improve your overall physical and mental health. And as an added bonus, you’ll make the person on the receiving end of the kindness feel good, too!

A random act of kindness doesn’t have to be a grand gesture, and it doesn’t have to be meticulously planned. Simply aim for something small and spontaneous. To get you started, here’s a list of our favorite random acts of kindness. We promise, a little goes a long way.


Compliment Someone

A small compliment could completely turn someone’s day around! This may be our favorite random act of kindness because it’s cost-free, it’s easy to do often, and it makes a lasting impact on the person receiving the compliment.


Buy Someone a Coffee

Have you ever been in the drive-through and had the car in front of you buy your coffee? Not only will it make your day, but it will encourage you to do the same for the car behind you. Spread the love and pay it forward!


Send Snail Mail

We are so accustomed to receiving emails that the only communications we expect to get by snail mail are bills. Surprise your loved ones by mailing them a card or a letter! They’ll be smiling from the moment they see your handwriting on the front of the envelope.


Donate to Help the Homeless

It’s time for spring cleaning! if you are getting rid of clothing, blankets or other gently used items, don’t throw them away. Donate them to your local homeless shelter or Salvation Army to help someone in need.


Offer Help

Do you have an elderly neighbor that needs groceries picked up for them? Does your friend who just gave birth need help with dinner? Offering to help those around you is truly one of the kindest things you can do, and it will always be appreciated.
